So many ask us about our varietal, Touriga Nacional. Touriga Nacional is a variety of red wine grape, considered by many to be Portugal's finest. All in all, it has a similar fruit profile to the king of red wine: Cabernet Sauvignon.
So what do you pair with such a full-bodied wine with deep fruit flavors, soft tannins, and good acidity?
Touriga Nacional pairs best with Grilled, Braised, or Roasted Meat and Smoked Cheese.
The Ideal Glass
The Bordeaux glass is perfect for a bodied red wine. It is taller than other red wine glasses, and has a slimmer bowl.
The large size of the glass allows the bouquet to develop. It smooths out rough edges, plays down tannins, and allows the wines to achieve balance.
The slimmer bowl sends the wine directly to the back of the mouth for maximum taste.
